Dr. Tamar Kaldani is the Data Protection Commissioner of the Council of Europe (since 2025). She is an international expert in privacy and data protection law with more than a decade of experience supporting the development of legal frameworks and supervisory authorities across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific. She previously served as Georgia’s first Data Protection Commissioner (2013–2019) and as First Vice-Chair of the Consultative Committee of Convention 108.
