Agostino Ghiglia is a Member of the Board at the Italian Data Protection Authority. He brings extensive institutional experience and a strategic outlook on the evolving challenges and opportunities of the digital age. He has become a thought leader in data protection, digital governance and technological innovation.
Holding a degree in Law and a postgraduate master’s in health law, he has served in high-level public roles, including Member of the Italian Parliament and both Regional Councillor and Regional Minister in the Piedmont Region. Alongside his public service, he has held senior leadership positions across sectors such as professional training, business consultancy, digital innovation, cybersecurity, environment and energy.
Throughout his career, Agostino Ghiglia has been a strong advocate for ethical and sustainable technological progress, with a particular focus on safeguarding fundamental rights in the digital sphere. He is especially committed to the protection of minors online and the advancement of Digital Civic Education.
Mr. Ghiglia is a member of the Scientific Committee of Diritto dell’Informazione (the Information Law Portal) and serves as Legislative Affairs Advisor to the Italy–USA Foundation.
