Chris Taylor

Head of International Regulatory Cooperation (UK Information Commissioner’s Office)

Chris Taylor the Acting Director of International Regulatory Cooperation at the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). He is responsible for the ICOs work in multilateral international networks and fora relating to data protection and privacy, the ICO’s bilateral relationships with a wide range of international partners and stakeholders, and the ICO’s work in relation to a number of key international data protection and privacy policy areas.

He joined ICO in 2018 and has worked in a range of roles across the organisation, including having had responsibility for much of ICOs core data protection guidance for organisations, key policy areas such as the ICOs statutory code of practice on journalism, and the creation of the ICOs regulatory sandbox. Prior to working at the ICO, Chris spent much of his career working in the Higher Education sector in the UK in a range of national policy and delivery roles.
