Anne Schilmöller is an official at the European Commission, where she serves as Head of Sector for Data Flows in the Unit on International Affairs and Data Flows within the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST).
With a strong background in law, Anne has extensive experience in EU policies in the area of cross-border data flows, in particular on adequacy negotiations with a wide range of third countries and in the negotiation of data protection provisions in international agreements, ensuring that EU standards are upheld in global digital trade and cooperation.
Before joining the European Commission she worked at the European Central Bank, and earlier served in the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, gaining expertise in national and EU-level governance.
