Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela JANASHVILI is the former President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Global Privacy Assembly (GPA).

She is an Associate Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), and an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She holds a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), as well as a doctoral degree in Human Security and Global Public Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where she was awarded an Extraordinary Doctoral Degree for her outstanding doctoral career. 

From 2022 to 2026, Prof. Dr. Dr. JANASHVILI was an Editor-in-Chief of the annual, bilingual scientific publication of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia — the “Journal of Personal Data Protection Law”. Since 2015, she is a member of an Editorial Board of the newspaper of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University — “Tbilisi University”.

She has authored numerous scientific research papers and has contributed to several international conferences on data protection, privacy, Artificial Intelligence, legal theory and constitutional law.
