Data Protection Expert at the Turkish Data Protection Authority (KVKK)

Beste Ekin is a Data Protection Expert at the Turkish Data Protection Authority (KVKK). She graduated with honours from Bilkent University Faculty of Law and holds two LL.M. degrees from the same institution. Her graduate research examined the abuse of dominant position through exclusionary conduct in EU and Turkish competition law. Her second LL.M. focused on the legal implications of emerging technologies, which later formed the basis of her book “Big Data from the Perspective of Personal Data Protection and Competition Law”. Ms Ekin’s work focuses on the legal implications of artificial intelligence, particularly its compatibility with existing legal frameworks, its interaction with data protection law, and the broader regulatory challenges it presents.
